How Much Can You Eat At A Time 1 Year Out?

Recommended Posts

I'm a low BMI-er, was 205 now 145 5'0". Still need to lose 15-20. I'm almost 10 months out. I can ... As best as I can figure bc I haven't weighed my food... Eat about 6-8 oz. at a time depending in what it is. When I go out to eat like tonight for instance I ate 3-4 bites of spinach dip with a small chip, 4 bites/pieces of salad, I sliver/half of a small lobster tail, and 3-4 bites of my steak ... All a little spaced out of course. I still eat whatever I like of of course much less and I stay full a lot longer between meals. I don't wanna feel line I'm on a never ending diet! I was just curious now much others can or do eat??? Of course if I were more diligent about what I eat and exercised.... Which I barely have I would probably be at goal now, but even though slower I think I will !!!! Just wanna hear from others and how they "live with" the sleeve.

I was sleeved 9/26 and I can eat one drumstick and one or two bites of a thigh and also about 1/4 cup of vegetables and a 1/4 of starch. Or I can eat about a cup or a little more of Soup. I can have one soft chicken taco. I love that I can have things I like, feel full and still lose weight. I think I'm going to tighten up and have more meals that are Protein Shakes to try to make the weight come off a little faster. They fill me up and I like them. I have continued to have shakes for Breakfast and now I'm going to have them for lunch and have small Snacks like yogurt, fat free cottage cheese with no sugar added fruit or low fat string cheese. And then have a regular - but still low carb and somewhat low fat for dinner. Maybe then I can lose more than 1 lb a week.

I did a shake for breakfast for several months but i may start back for my New Years Resolution lol. Good to hear I'm pretty normal. I also can eat 1 taco, or about 1/2 to 3/4 of a small burger. I usually eat half all together then wait while and eat the other half of the meat. Or else my dog get a treat! They get lotsa treats now ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
