Today i reached my first goal "Onderland" and i feel wonderful!!!

I am optimistic, happy and thankful...

Surgery Day Nov, 7th 2012: 230 LB

November 7 230.3

November 27 206.0

November 30 202.8

December 4 198.4

I am 27 days post surgery and i am doing wonderful as to losing weight...

But i am still having issues like Gas pains and feeling full after only one bite and eating only once or twice a day. I asked my doctor about Protein supplements he said i dont need them nor i need Vitamin :) I did buy my own vitamin pills but the pill is huge and cant be crushed since its gel so there is no way i will take them...

I hope i dont hit any stalls any time soon :( i still have a long way to go but am celebrating my loss so far^_^

I would clarify with your nut about the no Protein supplements and no Vitamin directive...that is opposite of EVERYTHING I've read here and, more importantly, what my surgeon and nutritionists advised. You need protein so that you are not digesting your own muscle and with our limited intake, we have to have vitamin supplements. Try the Gummy multi-vitamins...they are easy to eat and taste great. I've been on Vitamins and Protein Shakes since surgery and have lost no hair and am feeling full of energy.

You're doing great, by the way! Keep up the good work and best of everything to you! Congratulations!

I agree too. Your body needs Protein and Vitamins and minerals that we normally get from food to function.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
