Karee 8 Posted December 4, 2012 ** SLEEVERS*** sorry for the spelling error... I'm so tired! Looking for friends in Seattle-ish area that has had a VSG done. I'm heading to good 'ld Mexico in Feb and have so any questions! I'm hoping to find someone that had surgery in MX and has found a doctor in SEA that is willing to do follow up care. I'm excited, nervous and plain terrified. Anyone that can give me guidance is welcome to message me!! Thx Karee
icon23 273 Posted December 4, 2012 I'm in Seattle, but I'm not getting sleeved until March, also in MX. I can't really be of much help with finding a PCP who will do follow-up--I'm a student and I see a doctor on my campus--but I would be happy to have sleeve buddies in/near town. MINI-Me 196 Posted December 12, 2012 Hi everyone! I'm in Seattle and was sleeved by dr Garcia in TJ Mexico on November 14th. I'm currently using Pacific Northwest nutrition with Melanie for fu nutrition, THEY ARE GREAT!!!! It's located in Edmonds, wa Most any PCP will see you after surgery. Do you have a family doctor? If so, you should talk to them & discuss the surgery. They may have helpful medical information on you that will help your surgeon. I agree with the prior post - Pacific Northwest Nutrition is a great help. I saw them at 1 year out just to level set what maintenance should look like. Check your insurance. Even if they don't cover WLS, many insurance plans cover a set # of nutrition visits per year. Melonie even has WLS support groups that meet on a monthly basis. I used to attend one in Edmonds and another in Marysville - it was very helpful in the first year or so. Best of luck wiht your surgery! Best of luck.
