doxieville 799 Posted December 4, 2012 Hi, So I've lost 50 pounds and my belly is sagging. I'm 51 and have carried 2 children so there's no way to avoid the sag. I live in TX and sweat...and I'm developing a rash. Any suggestions? Thanks!! 1 krazynique reacted to this
Looking Ahead 239 Posted December 4, 2012 Silvadine Cream. I use it and it gets rid of the rashes within 24 hours. It is prescription but a cheaper Rx.

allthatjazz4u 204 Posted December 5, 2012 Is it a rash? Or a skin yeast infection? Shortly after surgery I got what I assumes was a rash in the folds of my skin and under my breast, my dr said it was a fungal infection(similar to athletes foot) and told me to use over the counter athletes foot cream. it cleared up in a few days
doxieville 799 Posted December 5, 2012 I'm pretty sure its a heat rash. But i see my surgeon for a checkup next week and i think I better show him. I had no idea I could get a yeast infection in that area!! Thanks!!
AngelEyesInNJ 187 Posted December 5, 2012 I know sometimes corn startch may help and I have heard deodorant helps under the breast when sweat causes rashes, may help with yours. Always best to ask a doctor for sure the best way

ladyvm 12 Posted December 6, 2012 Aafter the doc gets the rash cleared up you can use bath and body works spray ( mostly alcohol) in all of the crease areas 2x a day. It keeps bacteria at bay plus you smell good.

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted December 15, 2012 I have had a pannus since age 12 (how sad is THAT!?) I learned a loooong time ago that a little deoderant goes a long way. So I put deo on my arm pits, my leg pits and down my inner thigh, under my belly and under my breasts. It doesn't cure a yeasty rash but it does prevent rashes for me. doxieville 799 Posted December 15, 2012 Serenity- what kind of deodorant do you use? Mitchum seems to be too strong for me (got horrible pit burn from it) and Degree isn't enough for the pannus. So I use Degree for my pits & Mitchum for my belly. I'd really like to just use one brand. Thanks!!
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted December 15, 2012 I use lady speedstick.. It's always worked well for me... but fortunately I'm not a very sweaty person from the neck down anyway so the speedstick is perfect for me. If you're having trouble, try applying at night. I have a cousin with hyper-hydrosis and her doctor recommended she apply her antiperspirant at night onto dry skin and lay in a cool room to avoid getting sweaty while it's absorbing. Jen35 283 Posted December 15, 2012 I am pre-op and I have had the same kind of rash in that area. It was really red and sometimes itchy and painful. I thought it was a yeast rash and tried all the over the counter creams, but nothing helped. My doctor confirmed it was a yeast rash and the Rx cream took care of it. The Rx creams are much stronger so I would recommend that route. I also found a product online called InterDry which is a medical grade anti-microbial fabric with silver that wicks moisture away from your body. It also inhibits the yeast or any bacteria from multiplying. It was created for exactly this problem. It is a roll of fabric that you cut to size and place in the folds of skin. It works wonders!!! It isn't cheap but you don't have to buy it very often (you can use each piece for up to 5 days - depending). Making sure the area is clean and dry is the key. After I shower, I always use my hairdryer on the cool setting to dry "the area" before I get dressed. You can do this several times a day if needed. Hope this wasn't TMI, but I was miserable and these things helped me.
