Ms. Scarlett 6 Posted December 2, 2012 I am almost 10 months out (2/9/2012) and have lost 78 pounds. Which makes me happy and I feel great- better than I have in longer than I can remember. But, I have been stuck at that weight for about 5 weeks. I know that I am snacking more, and while I haven't gained anything- even over Thanksgiving, I haven't lost anything. I have absolutely GOT to get back on track. I had stopped coming to this site for a while, but I am going to start making regular visits again. So, please, if you read this post, reply and yell at me to get my act together again before all this hard work goes to waste (or waist). Thanks!!
indigostorm 4 Posted December 2, 2012 ok, no kick in the a$$, but I will send you a big hug! Look you are doing great! Why don't you appriciate yourself a little more? Someone once told be the reason diets don't work is because people go on diets because they hate their bodies. How about approaching WL as something you do because you love your body and want it to be healthy? Eating healthy is hard this time of year, if you are holding steady then I think you are really rocking the program. How about exercise? Thats a great way of showing your body how much you love and care for it! Seriously, 78 pounds! OMG! go to a store and load 78 pounds of potatos in a cart just to get a visual of what you have accomplished. YEAH YOU! Lots of high fives to you! indigostorm 11 3 920amy, GlendaLee and susanfaye reacted to this

johnlatte 1,232 Posted December 2, 2012 Think about why you had this surgery. Think about those first few days afterwards. Think about all those times before surgery when you just hated <insert your thought here>. How did you feel? I bet you said "I'd give anything to not be this heavy" Remember that stuff. Get yourself back to the gym. You've come too far, given up to much to just give in. Is what you are doing right now, worth giving up all you have accomplished? You know that as easily as the weight comes off, it will come back if you aren't strong and vigilant. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT! Now go kick some real ass and be the best you can be! 2 GlendaLee and susanfaye reacted to this
Tenshi 34 Posted December 3, 2012 I am in the same boat as you, Ms Scarlett! My surgery was January 23rd, and I've been hovering around the same weight for about three months, now. Entirely my fault - I've also been allowing Snacks to sneak back in and let myself slack on the activity front. I went to see my dietitian this past Friday and she gave me my kick in the a$$! She knocked me down to 1200 calories (which I have followed this weekend) and stressed an hour of cardio (even if it's just fast walking) 5-6 days/week. So, I'm doing that. One day at a time! Let's kick this holiday season's BUTT.
blondie1007 51 Posted December 3, 2012 I would cut my calories back to 1000 a day and increase your Protein and cut carbs completely out for three days while you still exercise at least once a day. Also, only drink Water for the three days. This should get you kick started by seeing a few pounds drop off. Also, if you feel like snacking....grab a pickle or if you have to... an apple, but pickles are better.
Katie713 423 Posted December 3, 2012 Ms. Scarlett....count me in, I need an A** whoopin too. Same place, I didn't gain over Thanksgiving but have been in a serious stall and I want to get to goal. I have been snacking rather than focusing on my Protein first with a little veg on the side. Instead I would rather eat cheese and a few crackers and a Protein Bar. I am taking my Vitamins, but I can tell that I am not getting the nutrition I did when I first started this journey. I am 8 months out and need to get it together!! We can do this!! Catracks 865 Posted December 5, 2012 To hell with the hugs. I want to kick you in the arse Stop with the damn snacking unless it's part of your planned menu, eat Protein first and then veggies to fill in the edges. Cut the bread, rice, Pasta, or any other white flour, nutritionally devoid OUT! Get it out of the house! Exercise and especially do weight training to keep lean muscle and speed up metabolism. Things get harder the closer you are to goal so get working you slug and MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How's that? 2 Threetimesacharm and gloriann reacted to this

Ms. Scarlett 6 Posted December 6, 2012 Thanks, Catracks!! I think I am back on track...I have actually broke through and lost almost two more pounds this week. I am doing Water aerobics twice a week. But any length of marathons that I will ever do is zero- I am not a runner! Really- has anyone ever seen a happy runner?
Catracks 865 Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks, Catracks!! I think I am back on track...I have actually broke through and lost almost two more pounds this week. I am doing Water aerobics twice a week. But any length of marathons that I will ever do is zero- I am not a runner! Really- has anyone ever seen a happy runner? I'm not on track today. Guess who had two piece of See's candy this morning. Still under for calories, but sheesh! They put out candy constantly here. I'll nip this in the bud.
Katie713 423 Posted December 7, 2012 Company potluck this morning. I had one chicken wing, and SEVERAL small bites of dessert. Not my best effort. Not enough Protein or nutrition. Luckily tomorrow is a new day.
Robyn Owens-Miille 132 Posted December 7, 2012 Why is one chicken wing and several small bites of dessert a failure? You didn't do this to deprive yourself! You did it to learn to control what you eat and you did!!!!!!!! You know that it wasn't an ideal day and you're not gonna eat that way tomorrow. To me... THAT IS A SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!! Potlucks are hell for me as a recovering food addict. This time of year is sooo hard to not go crazy.
Katie713 423 Posted December 7, 2012 I know I didn't totally blow it, but when I posted I was feeling lousy. I focused on the dessert options, missed my Water and Protein requirements, and felt nutritionally lacking. I did have a greek salad later in the day and sugar free tea, and I do feel better. You are right Potlucks and buffets are not easy to navigate!!
