delta_girl 931 Posted December 2, 2012 There is one that a patient wrote and published on Amazon as a Kindle book for $3.99 though you can get the paperback for more. I read it and it is basically a general summary. The title is: The Sleeved Life: A Patient-to-Patient Guide on Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Weight Loss Surgery. I was really hoping for something more from the book. Everything you can read here is the same types of thing you get from your surgeon and nut and can read on these boards, but you may find it informational. There is another book which I have not read available from Amazon by Dr. Alvarez. Successful Weight Loss with the Gastric Sleeve
Lorraine Freeman 47 Posted December 2, 2012 Does anyone know of a good book on just the sleeve? There is one called return to slender, its written by a nutritionalist that has actually had the gastric sleeve. She has also just brought out a second book Return to slender second helpings. It gives you fab recipes and explains the food stages. It tells you food and drinks to avoid and the reasons why and also gives tips for equipment etc post surgery. Hi there, i am from Scotland and these books are still readily available here. If you go to bariatriccookery.com they sell them for less than £20 for the 2 books. It asks what currency you would like to pay in so might accept US Dollars.

Still a lot cheaper than the €300 it was asking for on Amazon though. Hope this helps. Xxx
AStephenson 159 Posted December 2, 2012 I've got Dr. Alvarez's book...it's pretty good, lots of general information, some "troubleshooting" tips...you can order it off his website endobariatric.com or I think there is even a link on here somewhere I've seen. I've watched his youtube videos too and really like them. He was my first choice in surgeon but I'm not patient enough to wait to save up his surgery fee :/
