johnlatte 1,232 Posted December 2, 2012 Back Pain? Not too sure, but not normal...lack of energy most likely comes from like of adequate protien or dehydration.
AFox 2 Posted December 2, 2012 I've been having back and neck pain (4 days post OP). I think it's because we're using muscles were not used to to try and avoid using our stomach muscles. If after a few weeks and your still having pain totally tell your Dr. 1 Catherine Shinn Habhab reacted to this
iggychic 1,405 Posted December 2, 2012 If the pain is centered on the left, call your doctor right now as that is sign of a leak. If it's just general, and not debilitating than it may just be from too much time in bed and use of different muscles due to protecting the surgical wounds. Weakness is also a leak sign but is normal when you've had major surgery. If your heart is racing and you are experiencing the weakness, again, don't wait, call your doctor now. 1 Catherine Shinn Habhab reacted to this
Catherine Shinn Habhab 97 Posted December 2, 2012 I was extremely weak the first 10-14 days after surgery. I had back pain before surgery.....after, my back felt great. I agree with the others though, you're probably compensating by using other muscles to protect your abdomen.
delta_girl 931 Posted December 2, 2012 I had bad neck pain for the first week after surgery. I thought it was probably a result of my body jerking in reaction to fighting the anesthesia, or if the surgeon placed my head in an odd position. It went away after about a week and all was well. Went back to edit this. I didn't intentionally fight anesthesia, but I have a very assertive personality and it might have been involuntary. Does anyone have any information on this reaction?
