Back Pain? Not too sure, but not normal...lack of energy most likely comes from like of adequate protien or dehydration.

I've been having back and neck pain (4 days post OP). I think it's because we're using muscles were not used to to try and avoid using our stomach muscles. If after a few weeks and your still having pain totally tell your Dr.

If the pain is centered on the left, call your doctor right now as that is sign of a leak. If it's just general, and not debilitating than it may just be from too much time in bed and use of different muscles due to protecting the surgical wounds. Weakness is also a leak sign but is normal when you've had major surgery. If your heart is racing and you are experiencing the weakness, again, don't wait, call your doctor now.

I was extremely weak the first 10-14 days after surgery.

I had back pain before surgery.....after, my back felt great. I agree with the others though, you're probably compensating by using other muscles to protect your abdomen.

I had bad neck pain for the first week after surgery. I thought it was probably a result of my body jerking in reaction to fighting the anesthesia, or if the surgeon placed my head in an odd position. It went away after about a week and all was well.

Went back to edit this.

I didn't intentionally fight anesthesia, but I have a very assertive personality and it might have been involuntary.

Does anyone have any information on this reaction?
