LionHeart 2 Posted December 2, 2012 Every since surgery 3 wks ago, I'm struggling jig time to drink Protein Shakes. They now all taste horrible, leave an after taste or make me nauseous. Therefore, I don't even attempt right now. I'm in the purée/soft foods phase and this is the only Protein I get which I know is barely anything. Anyone else having this problem? Butterthebean 8,146 Posted December 2, 2012 You could get plenty of Protein on the puréed stage as long as you concentrate on them. I don't know what you're eating, but focus on protein only if you're not getting enough. It's very important to do what you have to do to get in your protein right now. LadyK 164 Posted December 2, 2012 Another good Protein source in that stage is Greek yogurt, it has 22 grams per serving, that's what I relied on in that stage because, the smell of the shakes made me gag. I still have to break down every now and then to have a shake when I have a day when I just don't feel like eating. Another suggestion my NUT gave me was luncheon meat and string cheese, egg salad, hummus, and ricotta cheese. Some Greek yogurt brands are Fage, Chobani, and Oikos. 1 ebonymorton reacted to this
