I had control of my eating habits and I weighted my food..I also went to the gym from 8AM to 10:00 AM daily. Now I work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. And when I go home I just don’t want to do anything. My eating habbits are out of control. As of today 10-21-06 I will regroup and get back on track

Hi Joe,

It is hard to go back out once you are home. Maybe if you pack a gym bag and hit the gym before you go home at least for an hour you could develop a routine to get back on track?

I know how hard it can be to change schedules. I have always had an easier times on day shift. My Y opens really early and I have gone a few times before work.Is this possible or is there a gym at work? Also, when I know I am going to work late I measure things out the night before and just pack my lunch and dinner. There is nothing that you cannot do in the morning or afternoon that you could do at other times. You have come so far and done so well, don't let this schedule change get you down, good luck.

Joe,

Is it possible for you to sign up with a trainer at your gym for around 6 pm one day a week? That way, you have to go because someone is meeting you there and you're paying (dearly -- it 'aint cheap!) for their time. I do that once a week, then work out hard Fri, Sat, Sun and that gets me in a guaranteed 4 times a week. I'd like to do more in the week, but that's my compromise with myself for now...

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
