Emotions Are Crazy Like--2 Days Before Wls

Recommended Posts

My emotions are making me think I"m crazy. I'm excited, sad, happy, nervous, anxious, etc. I was sitting on the floor hugging my big ole dog and crying into her fur. WTH???? Anyone else feel like this too?

I'm waiting to hear about being approved and I'm like that already so I don't think you are crazy. I figure its normal and just remember why you are doing this :) Good Luck

I think what you are going through is perfectly normal. I would be worried if you weren't having different emotions. This is life changing event we are facing. I am not that close to my sx yet, only about half way through the process, but I have had a few emotional moments myself and I can see it getting worse when it gets very close to the time. Good luck to you, hug you dog and anyone else you can and remember this is for a longer and healthier life.

I am worried because I am not nervous... People keep asking me if I am nervous and I'm honestly not... I am just so ready!

I'm 12 days from surgery and my emotions are all over the place too. I'm mostly nervous as the time gets closer. Starting my liquid diet tomorrow. My friends keep asking me if I'm ready and all I can say is that I'm as ready as I'm going to be.

My surgery is 11 days away and although I seem calm on the surface my emotions are all over the place inside. I am anxious about how it will feel to swallow. That's the one thing that can't be worked out mentally. I can't predict the physical. Also, I haven't been "small" since my 30's. It's hard to even visualize. Deep breath...Believe

Omg, yes!! I can totally relate. I'm scheduled for Wednesday and my family doesn't want me have surgery. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I think if i wasn't on an antidepressant I would be even worse!!

Aren't big ole dogs the best????

My surgery is on the 10th and I am starting to feel my emotions going all over the place. The thing that keeps me calm the most is knowing that I am doing something for a healthier and longer life. It gets hard at times, but when I feel like crying I just let it out, that seems to make feel better even if for a little while. My hardest issue was starting the liquid diet. It is not as bad now as it was at first but it still is not the easiest thing in the world. If it were I do not think most of us would be going through the WLS in the first place right? Great news though you are not alone. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
