Supersweetums 1,164 Posted December 1, 2012 On November 29th marked 2 years since I had my VSG done. How quickly time flies! I am 83lbs down from my surgery weight, and 122lbs down from my highest weight. I went from wearing a size 20/22 at my highest the wearing a size 4/6 and xs/s tops. I actually dropped a little below my goal and have been easily maintaining for the last 6 months. I was a slower loser, but I reached my goal in 18 months and couldn't be happier! I have never regretted having the surgery done and have always felt like it was the best thing that I have EVER done for myself. I feel so great and would do it again in a heartbeat! 9 LessofKelly, Diamondeyed, SML1997 and 6 others reacted to this

jar312 22 Posted December 1, 2012 I am currently 3 months out and lost 64 lb since surgery 78 total. I am struggling a little with the whole did I eat to much, did I stretch my stomach out again, am I gonna gain? I think its because it feels different when u eat and the fullness isn't the same as before. Did u ever struggle like this and how did u deal?
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted December 1, 2012 Wow, happy surgiversary! I'm looking forward to being sleeved in March. I'm not looking forward to the actual surgery, but when I read testimonies like yours, it makes me believe that it will all be worth it. Thank you so much for sharing. 1 Supersweetums reacted to this

I wouldn't say I struggle with thinking I stretched out my stomach. I still have pretty good restriction and it has not changed in a long time, no matter what I ate like. I do still struggle sometimes with bad food choices. For the most part, I eat really well, but there has been occasions where I eat something and don't feel good and wonder why I did that to myself. I am human, I make mistakes. I will be honest, I do struggle with the thought of gaining the weight back. I always have gained the weight back so it is always in the back of my head. But it has been comforting having maintain my goal for the last 6 months without issues. I think once I hit a year at maintenance I will really start to feel like I won't gain it back. Capricornrose 59 Posted December 2, 2012 I wonder what you need to do to keep your stomach from stretching or is it unavoidable? I haven't had surgery yet, but trying to learn as much as I can.

Futureskinnyperson 29 Posted December 2, 2012 Wow! Great job ! Thanks for posting this and being such an inspiration. I am curious if you had a lot of Hair loss and at what point did it stop?
Supersweetums 1,164 Posted December 2, 2012 I have no answer for hanging skin. I need a Tummy Tuck and I am currently trying to save for it. I think a lot depends on how long you have been overweight, pregnancies, genetics, etc. I did have significant hair loss. It started at about 3 or 4 months out and lasted for about 4 months. I cut my hair short it was getting so thin. But not to worry, I have all my hair back and it is healthier than ever!

I have never regretted having the surgery done and have always felt like it was the best thing that I have EVER done for myself. I feel so great and would do it again in a heartbeat! Me too!!!! I'm 2 yrs 7 months out. Went from an 18/20 to wearing size 4, 6 and 8 size jeans from Gap. All depends on the style. 81 lbs less than the day of the WLS seminar and 58 lbs from the morning of surgery. I never had a minute of buyer's remorse, I love it. This is not a diet, after having 85% of my tummy removed, it's my new way of life. I eat normally, and although most would think I eat small amounts, I think I probably eat the size portions we should eat. Last night I had one cheese enchilada, about 1.5 T of refried Beans and the same amount of rice. Over the course of the meal I ate two corn tortillas. To ME this seems like a lot, but not to others who consume a whole platter. I use to be one of them. I still have great restriction.

I wonder if we'll ever push the thoughts out of our heads, the ones about gaining it back. Like you, I always re-gained. I make mistakes too, but I don't really think of it like that since my surgeon said, "this is not a diet, it's a way of life" I think I make poor choices sometimes, and sometimes, like when making christmas Cookies and sampling more than I should....I just felt yucky. I'm up five lbs as of this morning, from a week ago. I've had the munchies for some reason, but I just cut out a couple of Snacks and it comes right off. I am upping my Protein a little, that always does it. I've been maintaining for two years, but have been 'stable' for about 20 months. I lost too much and had to add some calories to get back up a little. I'm fine now, I know I could still lose if I wanted to. I am never hungry, are you? I have a new hunger, it's more of an empty feeling, something I can ignore if I choose to. It's weird, but I hope it stays this way forever!
