I am 4days post op also. I work all day to get in Water. I know I am still not getting enough Water in yet. I haven't had a bowel movement and can only take a couple sips at a time. My surgeon said that I will hate him now but love him later because he makes a tighter sleeve than most. He said my stomach is only the size of my pointer finger. I am more worried about getting my water in for now so I don't get dehydrated. I will worry about more Protein later. Too bad no one has come out with a Chettos flavored Protein shake. I am already tired of the variety of sweet shakes out there.

That was my worry, I'm 4 days out also. Just keep sipping and as long as your urinating your ok. If that stops that call your doctor. Do what u can it will get better.

Try a heating pad on your stomach for the gas! And don't worry' date=' I am 4 weeks post op today, you can start to get a feel for what you can eat and drink as the days go one.[/quote']

I was under the assumption that I could not take anything else.

No no, you should be on something like that. My surgeon wrote me a 3 month script for Nexium and I was also told to suppliment that with Zergreid. Get with your surgeon or PCP and start working that. you'll feel much better.

Do they come in liquid form.

Not 100% sure, but both are really really small. Haven't had a problem getting them down at all. You can get Zergrid, OTC and it's tiny too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
