seelessofme 63 Posted January 6, 2013 I was sleeved 8/14/12 at sisters hospital. Where are you having your surgery? I feel my weight loss is going at a snails pace but what can I do...at least I'm losing weight and losing inches. Tell me about your friends that had the surgery. Have they lost a lot? I'm down 37 lbs to date. Good luck in your journey!

crossmy_h3art 17 Posted January 9, 2013 Aw what happened Bekka? Why did your surgery get postponed?
bekkamyhousekey 12 Posted January 9, 2013 I had just received a promotion at work & my January surgery date at the same time. I was given two options, lose my job or postpone.
crossmy_h3art 17 Posted January 9, 2013 Atleast it only got pushed back a month or so and you got a promotion to boot (: are all your requirements done since you were ready for the 2nd? I go for my pre-op class next week.
bekkamyhousekey 12 Posted January 9, 2013 I have to re-do two things, my pre screening at sisters and get cleared by my primary. Otherwise, it's all good. I am taking a little refresher nutrition class though
crossmy_h3art 17 Posted January 9, 2013 How long before your surgery was your sisters appt? Just trying to figure out when ill get that call
seelessofme 63 Posted January 10, 2013 How long before your surgery was your sisters appt? I usually plan things way in advance so it's driving me crazy that the paper says sisters will call me to schedule it lol. Just trying to figure out when ill get that call I went in if I remember correctly like a week to a few days before my surgery....but no more than a week. Plan to be there for a while, they are very thorough. They take blood and urine samples, chest X-ray, EKG, and a health history. Hope all goes well for you. Good luck! crossmy_h3art 17 Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks for the info seeless! So you're about 6 months out now, right? What does your daily menu look like these days?
seelessofme 63 Posted January 10, 2013 Ill be 5 months next week, but I eat most chicken, softer foods because that's what my sleeve prefers and I avoid breads...which is weird because I loved breads but since the surgery, bread feels like I have cotton in my mouth. I don't lie the texture of it. I eat yogurts, puddings, cheeses, small portions of potatoes, veggies but mostly lots of chicken and regular foods except salads, I have to really chew it. I don't tolerate bananas as much either. Nits a hit or miss with foods as I'm still learning too. Are you seeing Dr. Carauana?
crossmy_h3art 17 Posted January 10, 2013 Yep! He seems fantastic, although a girl I know did RNY with him about 7 or 8 months ago and said he doesn't do many sleeves since they're not his speciality. I want to just attribute that to the RNY vs. Sleeve gang war, lol, but she's making me a little nervous.
seelessofme 63 Posted January 10, 2013 Interesting, the class I was in for workshops and nutrition were all sleeves. But I will say he was wonderful! No kind of pain and felt very good early on. Never threw up or had any problems post op.
