Leaving Nursing Job (Srubs), To Admin Position (Profession Clothes), Help! I'm In Need Of Size 10/12-13S

Recommended Posts

Recently my job flipped 230 employees life around by doing ahuge lay off and moving some of us around.

They put me on pms due to my seniority. I then had to think about me, my family and my safety. (I take the train to/from work, train at 2am in Chicago is very dangerous!)

I don't have babysitter, our life got flipped upside down.

I just got a call yesterday, offered job position but requires business dress up clothes!

I have non! I have worked in nursing for years and years, so I never purchased business clothes with my new body. I start in 2 weeks and I have no money to buy a huge wardrobe!!!!! I kept using the same size 12 dress to every interview, even the 2nd interview for this position!

If anyone is selling on ebay please send me links, if anyone is giving away or swapping, please let me know!

I am also thinking of going to thrift shop and hopefully find some pieces!!

Thank You!

All through my weightloss I was at Goodwill about once a month, returning clothes I bought the previous month and buying new ones. Just keep your receipts!

BTW, they have colored tags and each day a different one is 50% off. I would go there before ebay.

I have to go to a better neighborhood goodwill, I went to the ones by my house... lol, um no! I went to ebay and well, either I am not searching correctly, but I just don't see good deals for used clothes like I would find at goodwill prices, lol

I didn't know we can resell them the clothes! That is a great idea! It would be a waste of money to keep buying new clothes if it won't fit in a month anymore!

Thank You for the tip!

I should qualify my statement of returning the clothes ... I meant to say I donated the clothes back and kept the donation receipts for tax purposes. Otherwise, that just wouldn't be honest and truthful, IMO.

My Goodwill has great dress clothes for men and women. Just go back when you have more time and do a more exhaustive search. The dress clothes are there.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE... so I ran into some financial struggles due to a family emergency so i could not buy new wardrobe after all! So I wore a size 14 pair of business like pants to my first day of work.. they fit me so big that I had to wear my jeans under them! It didn't look bad at all, but i couldn't feel the pants falling off of me a few times at work!!! lol, how terrible! poor me! I laugh about it now! ..so for the first week, I wore that pair of pants and 2 dresses I owned. So what i did was buy a few pair of skirts...

I was having such a hard time to buy pants size 10/12 or even a tight 14. I am 5ft even so it was hard to find pants that will fit me good in length and good in thighs.. all of the seemed to big on the thighs and big on the booty... I did find JC Pennys pants in petite section fit me great! My husband bought me a pair for NYE party :) they were pink, I wore my black suede heel boots and a nice cream sheer shirt with it. I looked hott!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
