What's The Least Helpful "advice" You've Received?

Recommended Posts

I had a talk with my very thin mother tonight about my 2nd consult today and all of the potential complications, as well as the fact that I'll need to delay pregancy for a 18 months or so after surger to which she replied, "Well Jessica Simpson lost 75lbs on Weight Watchers, and she's already pregnant again- maybe you should try that?" Um really?

1. odds are Jessica Simpson doesnt have PCOS.

2. She lost 75lbs off of her pregnancy weight- 10lbs of it came off in a day when she gave birth! (I have no kids, so I dont know what losing pregnancy weight, but I strongly feel like it must be easier than losing "regular" weight, but I could be wrong)

3. She's Jessica freakin Simpson- She's being paid to lose weight by weight watchers! Its not an accurate representation of the average person who does weight watchers!

4. I've tried that (and south beach, and every other diet out there) I lose weight and gain it back and then some- we've established ths every year since high school.

UGH! My mother has been incredibly supportive throughout the whole process thus far, and even after she suggested this, and we talked further she continued to be supportive, but this comment just made it clear how much she doesnt understand what its like to be overweight.

Jessica got paid one million dollars to lose that weight. I could lose the weight too. Problem is, I can't keep it off! And she struggles with her weight too. She has yo-yoed up & down over the years. I hadn't heard she was pregnant, but if she is pregnant so quickly I suspect it's partly so she can eat again without the media taking a zillion pictures. I'm not a fan of her, but I do think she's one of the celebrities I can relate to, at least as far as weight issues.

Keep doing your research and make the best decision for you, not your mom, not Jessica S., not anyone but yourself.

She would have a personal trainer and probably someone to prepare meals (as well as clean the house and look after the babies while she works her butt off). Perhaps you could look at doing that? ;)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
