eazye 151 Posted November 29, 2012 I actually stalled after the first week. I lost 10 lbs after surgery but then not much of anything for nearly 2 weeks. Then, it came off in big chunks for the last 2 weeks of the 1st month, probably 5-7 lbs a week. Since then, I normally stall for days an then it drops off over a 2 day period. I am 4 months out now and I only drop 1-2 lbs a week but I am fine with that (down 112 lbs and only about 20 left to go). I also noticed that in my stall periods, my clothes still continued to get bigger and bigger on me despite the scale not moving. So, just because there are no scale changes doesn't mean there are no bodily changes occuring. I went through clothes fast after surgery, going from a 42 inch waist to a loose 36 inch in just a matter of a couple months. I can probably do a 34 but my legs dont fit well (always had thick muscular legs). So, ultimately you are 2 weeks out, don't get discouraged. I am just as guilty as everyone at weighting myself, at least twice a day, but that is how I can watch what I do on a daily basis and see how it affects my progress, last thing I want to do is make a week long mistake and realize I am gaining! At this point, you will have no choice but to lose weight! Your diet just will not allow you to maintain your current weight. Drink your Water, follow your plan, and it will come off! 3 pedsnurse120304, Johnboy996 and timetobefree reacted to this
TheGamer 406 Posted November 29, 2012 I had the week 3 stall myself. Just wait it out and once the body is ready to lose, it'll lose. You should be losing inches right now, even though the scale says you're losing nothing. Even with a multi-week stall between my week 1 and week 4 appointments, I still lost 16 pounds post surgery. Can you fail at this? Yes. But, I've yet to hear of anyone failing because they followed doctor's orders and did everything right. When people talk about regaining weight you'll usually see them talk about the self sabotage they did - high calorie, high fat, high carb foods that would make any dieting effort ('scuse me... "lifestyle change") fail.
gmanbat 5,889 Posted November 29, 2012 I have a back-up plan in case I get tired of being hot, slim, happy, and healthy. The best plan that I have come up with is to concentrate on getting as many small meals in as possible, high calorie, carb rich, low Protein, low Fiber preferred. When the pain and slime goes away from the last meal cram some more in. No exercise, no Water, just high calorie drinks. I won't try to stretch the sleeve, that's too hard, I'll just keep eating non-stop. I should be able to wreck myself in 10 months and get back into the big and tall shop's crappy, overpriced clothes even sooner, if I live long enough. (Man, I really hate this post. It was like planning a nightmare).
free4life 16 Posted November 29, 2012 It's funny that I just read this as I'm in week 3 and my weightloss has seemed to stop. So, I found an article on here about stalled weightloss and then I saw the comments here about week 3, also. So, I will continue to plug on eat my Protein rich meals with low carbs and drink a lot of water! I also think it would be best to weigh 1x a week now. In the first two weeks, I was dropping weight every day and have lost a total of 17 lbs. This is going to be a long journey for me to get to about an 80-90 lb. weightloss, so continuing to eat right, and adding exercise (besides walking) is my goal. I'm sure there are failures at this as someone already wrote about eating high carb, sugar and junk several times a day and not eating the Protein, low carb meals that one should be. If one thinks that the addiction to food is too much, then I would suggest seeing a counselor or getting into some sort of support group. At this point, I am not really very hungry. I have to make myself eat, as I know my body needs fuel. Hang in there and know that you are definitely not alone with all the support on this site!!! pedsnurse120304 19 Posted November 29, 2012 I know that seems like an odd question. But all I read on here are these super positive stories of people the sleeve has worked for. Well' date=' here I am two weeks post op and I lost 13 pounds. But I have been stalled for 4 days. I started at199 and now am 185.5. i am doing everything you all say; 700 calories a day, 65g Protein, under 30g carbs; 64oz water; right now I am still in liquids. What I can't figure out is how I can go from consuming over 2000 calories a day (pre op) to less than 700 and not lose weight. I feel so discouraged....thoughts?[/quote'] I was sleeved on 11/14. Down 7lbs. That's terrible. Im not counting calories, just Protein, Water. Im on soft foods now. Very discouraged too. think something needs to change quickly. I dont want to feel so discouraged so fast. Private message me. Lets keep in touch. Good luck.. 1 Butterflysecrets reacted to this

I have gained 5 lbs since surgery (3 weeks out today), and am beyond frustrated. Drinking 64+ ounces of Water daily, at least 75 grams of Protein, less than 1000 calories, and 30 min of walking daily, and still gaining. I am holding out hope for next week!
