Mz2good702 14 Posted November 28, 2012 I'm 5 months out an I hardly exercise. I'm so lazy but I know if I don't want the loose skin I better get to the gym. But I was wondering how long does it take before the skin actually starts to get tighten an what can I do to get my skin tighter?
loriK2012 0 Posted November 29, 2012 Ah, I hear you. I was not exercising much except for walking and house chores. But, I decided to try a gym and have been going for a month and have noticed the results come alot faster than when I exercised before surgery...that in itself is a great motivator. Also, there is an article somewhere on this site about loose skin...I found it by doing a search. Good luck to ya!
Mz2good702 14 Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks I have a gym in my neighborhood but once my office closes it closes. And it's hard for me to go because by the time I get off if work it's too late. So I'm just thinking about joining a public gym. Thanks because I'm so worried about the loose skin.
aroundhky 1,174 Posted November 30, 2012 Mz2good...... you look as if you have age on your side (pretty young) and I'm guessing your skin should bounce back quicker than us older folks on here. I think..... I know the resistance training (weightlifting) has helped me with the loose skin. From my highest weight of over 310, I've lost around 80 pounds (now 229) and have gone from 33% body fat to around 14-15% and still have no loose skin. I'm kind of old, so I'm thinking the weight training has helped me avoid the skin issues. Can't hurt to try it and see. Good luck!
Banned member 320 Posted November 30, 2012 Is it possible for you to go to the gym before work? When I had a job that's what I did because I would be too exhausted after work. For me the first 3 weeks are the hardest when it comes to finding a routine with exercise. I felt as if I was going through the motions and looking for an excuse not to do it but I stuck it out and now I love it. I look forward to going for my morning run, lifting weights, and feeling the burn My advice is to start slow. I started with a 2 mile walk outside 3 days a week. The treadmill is extremely boring for me so I do my cardio outside in the fresh air and I take my dog with me. Two miles on the treadmill would kill me mentally lol. Just start moving and you will probably find out that you like exercise. Oh and I'm praying that I can avoid the saggy skin also because I hate surgery and the recovery. I'd much rather not have plastics but I know with 100% certainty that I will need a boob lift. If only there was a way to get those girls back up nice and perky without surgery, I'd try it I also want to avoid bat wings. Good Luck.
Mz2good702 14 Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe that's a good idea...I should try to go to the gym before work. And honestly I'm just lazy. I need some strong motivation to get me started.
