Anyone starting to try Protein Shakes, researching Vitamins, tasting Unjury? ? I'm February 5th so I need to start preparing!!! It's overwhelming!!

I've been experimenting for a while. I ordered Vitamin samples from Bariatric Choice and have chosen the Celebrate mandarin orange, lemon calcium citrate chews, and a chewable Iron. I like EAS carb control Protein Drinks from Walmart, tried a few diff powders from there as well, not so good unless I doctor them up with PB, fruit or SF pudding mixes. I like Protein Ice drink (from my local sports nutrition store), Special K Protein Drink mixes, and just recently added Yoplait greek yogurt (vanilla) to my likes (mixed with either PB and SF butterscotch pudding mix or SF cheesecake pudding mix and some strawberries or cherries mashed up) The greek yogurt has been difficult, I like regular yogurt but the greek has been too "hardcore" for me LOL Just recently checked out soy milk and was pleased to discover it has a good bit of protein, although I read a post somewhere that it wasn't the best choice due to the soy having estrogens, which can make it harder to lose weight. Never tasted it though...I'm hoping all this hasn't been in vain, as supposedly my taste could change after surgery, but I've enjoyed all the experimentation :)

I was scheduled for sugery and still not 100% sure I am "approved" by my insurance. I assume they wouldn't schedule me if I wasn't. But, we all know what happens when you ASSume something?! LOL!

I don't know how to post pics either...sorry. I'm from Kansas (that isn't the reason that I don't know how to post pics...LOL). I'm married with 2 kids. I went into this whole process wanting the lapband, but changed my mind and decided to go with the sleeve half way through the process. I'm super excited too!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
