Ok I'm here in the waiting room. Nervous doesn't even come close. Surgery time is 7:15 so quite a while to wait. Would appreciate prayers.

You will be fine! It will be over before you know it! Just be prepared, you will have some major gas pain in your chest...I know I felt like I was having a heart attack! Make sure you press the button on your PAC pump whenever you need it, it really does help! Breathe as deeply as possible, and walk as much as you can. In all honesty, the worst part for me was the gas pains! It's ok to be a little scared, but you will come through it fantastically! Sending prayers your way.

And not I am having lots of pain in my stomach. I'm 4 days post op. can't get up and down without help. Burns bad.

I am wondering if having two hernias removed at the same time could cause extra pain?

Also I'm am black around each icut. Very black and big bruises. I'm taking my pills whole and not grinding them. They are all about the size of m&m. That's not my problem, I don't think , they seem to go down fine.

Others 5 days or around there say they have no pain.

I had discomfort 5 days post op....mainly gas and a JP drain. But everyone recovers differently. I would keep an eye on your temperature and temp of your incisions to make sure you don't have an.infection.

If you become very concerned you can always contact your PCP

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
