Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

Recommended Posts

February 7th here! I can happily say that things have gone much better than I ever expected. I had some complications the night after surgery, but since then all has gone pretty smooth. I am getting down my liquids, but anything thicker, like applesauce is a tad painful going down. I'm hoping that passes sooner than later! I did the pre-op diet for 7 days and lost 8 lbs. I have lost 11 lbs since surgery! I couldn't be happier with my decision to get sleeved. But I will be even happier when I can have steak!

Right on sister! I was allowed to eat mashed potatoes today because i have had next to no calories since the surgery. There was a mixup between my dr and the discharge nurse about what to eat. 5 days on water! Not a big deal though...

. glad u r doing well. Keep up the great work!

I had the same discrepancies with regard to what to eat when I got home. A different nutritionist visited me in the hospital and gave me a list of permissible foods to eat when I got home and pureed food was already on there! I didn't think I could have those for 2-3 weeks! I have been careful to not get too crazy since I don't really trust it just yet. I did have some mashed potatoes I put in the blender with low cal butter. Oh my heavens!! It has been such a treat!

Question for post-opers ...is anyone using a Gummy multivitamin vs. chewable.< /div>

My dietician did not recommend them because she said you might get some of it caught and it stick to your stomach and it not dissolve.

Hi, I'm Wendy, 33, from Texas. I will be sleeved on Feb 26. I'm nervous and excited, hoping to find some good support here.

Congrats Wendy, and you found your support right here!

They say we won't truly experience the feeling of being full until we get to the solid stages. I am only able to eat a little bit of the potatoes at a time because they hurt a bit going down. I feel a pain from my chest through my back.
