Well I guess it's true what everone says about the third week! I've gained one pound over the last week and the scale hasn't moved since! I'm ok with that. I've lost 21 pounds and I'll be 4 weeks out on Saturday. Throughout my adult life I've lost 50-60 pounds and gained it all back 4 times. I don't eat unhealthy never eat fast food, only drink Water, and mostly only cook at home. My problem was I had an enormous appetite! I could eat like a football player! I guess with this surgery I'm not expecting to lose all my weight overnight. Even though it sucks after all we've been through going through with a major surgery! Haha. I'm glad I've found the support from the people on this site!

Your story is very similar to mine - I ear very healthy - just started drinking things like Vitamin Water because my NUT advised it.

My problem was also a HUGE appetite! Good luck!

My surgery was 11/8 and I too have "stalled" in my third week. Thank goodness for this site and my doctor, at least I was forwarned that this it typical. Will be happy when the scale starts "moving" downward again! Good luck to you.

Yep, welcome to the club, don't worry about the stall, and don't weigh every day. Your body goes up and down by a couple of pounds every week anyway. I'll get on the scale one day and be 4 lbs. lighter 2 days later. Unreal. Your body has a lot of physical adjustments to go through, as does your digestive system. You will lose weight. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
