You're right about that I'm ready for my new life as well. I've done all the little things too, excited for my psych eval and quick question should I wait for them to send me for a EKG because if its a walk in I was thinking of getting it done before I head home after my psych eval appt. next month whether they tell me or not :). I'm so ready to climb out of this body I've been trapped in for over 17yrs now.

Your policy should state how much of a copay hospitalization is. You will also get a letter in the mail telling you how much it is and how you can pay

I did EKG before my psych eval. I went to do my lab work and them went to the cardiology dept and had my EKG done. The EKG process was super fast, I was in and out within 10 minutes.

I CANNOT LOSE THIS WEIGHT!!! I'm driving myself crazy over this! I'm at 214 and need to be at 213! Sound simple enough, but I can't get it off! I've fasted.. I've liquid dieted... I've spent hours upon hours of cardio at the gym...I'm drinking Water like never before... I've even resorted to Water pills and laxatives... No help at all... I just don't get it... I'm SO FRUSTRATED!!!

Hi Kimi...I know how you how u feel. If you want try this for 2-3 days Protein shake for Breakfast Water throughout the day (all 64 oz or more) and a salad for dinner (any way you want) preferably before 8pm. I did it and lost 6lbs. Good luck!

Kimi, maybe you need to increase your calories for a few days? Sounds like you're being pretty strict trying to get that last lb off. I know you must be so frustrated but you're going to make it. A few days longer won't matter once you finally reach your goal. You have a whole life ahead of you.

Thanks for the support!!! I think I'll do my Protein shake for dinner and my normal hour of cardio at the gym tonight... Thinking I sit in the steam room with layers I might be able to get out some of the Water weight. I just want to get this last pound off so I can get my dang surgery date!!! Lol!

STILL at 214! This mornings weigh in was 214.2... TWO OUNCES... Ughhh... I emailed my surgeon asking her for suggestions. She told me that she would have the dietician get a hold of me and review my food log. :)

So... Yeah... Maybe next week will be my lucky week. I cannot believe it has full week and no loss at all. I know that I will face stalls after surgery, and I guess this is just the preparation for those moments. Or at least, that's how I'm looking at it! Ha!!!

I'm sorry you guys are stalled too, but I guess it is comforting that i am not the only one stalled this week. Patience....not my strong suit.

I'm 16 days out. Lost 10lbs right away then nothing for about a week. The last 2 days I've dropped 4 lbs. it's so tough to wait out those stalls but the numbers on the scale will move eventually.

I guess my perinatal frustration is just because this weight that is leeching onto me, is the weight that is keeping me from being scheduled for surgery. THE only thing standing between me and my surgery date. I'm trying to just not think about it so much and just do what I can do.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
