What Average Weekly Inches Loss?

Recommended Posts

I just started taking measurements so I don't really know what an average is. I only lost 3 lbs last week but I lost 4 inches in my bust and 3 off my waist. Is that good or not so good?

I don't think that you can put an average on it. What is your total weight loss? Some as they progress along will lose inches and not as much weight, looks like this may have happened to you.

I try to rely less on what the scale says and more on what my clothes say. I have gone from a 48 jean to a snug 38 jean and a snug 3xl shirt to a xxl-xl and honestly that's more important to me then any number a scale can show me. Now to address you concern. I had 1.5 weeks where I stay pretty much the same weight but was still shedding inches. Then one day the weight started falling off again! Hang in there!

Thanks! I just wasn't expecting a stall since I still can't eat much. Last week I didn't shed any weight that's why I took measurements. I had to pack up some clothes this week because they no longer fit. I've gone from a 24 to a loose 20. I guess since I've had such big numbers the first 4 wks I just expected it to continue. It's going just in other means rather than the scale.

If I had to pick 4 inches or 4 pounds inches would win every time! 7 inches in a week is awesome!

I'm only 4 weeks out of surgery and I'm down 19 lbs but not down ANY inches. :( I can't figure out how this is possible.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
