Wtf To Eat

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on Oct. 30th. My starting weight 256.8' date=' Surgery day I weighed in at 247, as of Tuesday this week I weighed 228.2. I lost 8 pounds during pre-op diet a week before surgery, so all in all, I am down almost down 29lbs. I weight in on Saturday, tomorrow, so hopefully I've hit my 1st small goal of 30 lbs. :)

How about you?[/quote']

I was banded April 2011, weighed 267. Had the band removed sept 28 and got sleeved Oct 24 weighing in at 233. Nov 24 i weighed in @ 213. I went to visit my nurse yesterday and the scale says i gained one pound since last week. I'm not sure what's up. Was it the clothes, was it cause i haven't had a bm. That actually surprised and scared me since I'm eating the same.

I'm dealing with the "not having a bm". I actually called my doctor today about it... waiting for a response if I can take anything for it.

I drank chai tea straight, no sweetener and my not going troubles were resolved. It's a natural remedy- actually black tea of any sort is. Just watch the caffeine if your surgeon restricts it. (Mine was caffeine-free.)

I ate a baby dill pickle and drank some of the pickle juice. I'm sure it's an awful thing to confess that' date=' but I'm simply being honest. It took me a bit to eat the pickle but I enjoyed every last tiny nibble![/quote']

I do it too !!!!! Sometimes I just need that little pick me up a shot of Pickle Juice has to offer!

Pre-sleeve I never would have drank pickle juice!

Now it tastes like delicious Nector

My Dr said said it is normal not to go for days. When i first had my surgery, i didn't go for exactly two weeks two the day. If we are not really eating then nothing is going to come out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
