buffalogal 52 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi all, I got sleeved in July, so I'm about 4 months out. I eat a lot of Protein, rarely short on that, take Biotin, but my hair is coming out in bigger and bigger clumps. I'm getting pretty freaked out. I'd love to hear from those of you with more time under their belts. Will it stop? Is there anything else I can do? Help!!! 1 yazun82 reacted to this
920amy 409 Posted November 28, 2012 I read about the hair falling out before my surgery. I'm not quite one month, but I've read it typically hits between months 3 and 4. Everyone I've talked to says it slows and then stops. Most people just cut their hair short and wait for it to grow back. My understanding is it comes in thicker and thicker. I personally have resolved to shave my haed when the fall out starts, and donate it to locks for love. That way someone can take advantage of my loss. Don't freak out about it! Think of it as a new beginning! New hair for a new body! 2 klperry and icon23 reacted to this

shelly77 20 Posted November 28, 2012 I was just searching for some advice on this!!! I was also sleeved in July, and my hair is also coming out in handful clumps! I hate washing or brushing my hair because it seems more and more is coming out! A big disadvantage for me is that I already had thin hair-it's in my genes. I'm taking my Vitamins, including Biotin, and using specialized Shampoo. I've lost right at 60 pounds, so I'm thrilled about this, but getting depressed about my hair. My nurse practitioner has given me a referral to a specialist for female Hair loss, but after research on her website, it keeps saying over and over that meds they prescribe could cause liver damage. I'm trying to be healthier... 1 buffalogal reacted to this
enigmachik 403 Posted November 28, 2012 I was sleeved in July also and my hair is falling out like crazy now. It is definitely unnerving. I've even had a couple of nightmares about going completely bald. lol! My hair is my signature. It's the thing people know me by because it is extremely long (almost to the floor) so losing it in huge clumps like this is traumatic. I'm consoling myself with the fact that it is temporary. Hang in there, we'll get through it!

Almostthere34 128 Posted November 28, 2012 I was sleeved in June and the hair is coming out. My hair looks awful. I have no Idea what to do. I am getting my Biotin and Protein but still it's coming out. I hate to brush it. I am trying to hang in but it's kind of hard.
buffalogal 52 Posted November 28, 2012 And, it is everywhere! All over my clothes. I'm thinking about going short for awhile, just because I'm tired of picking hairs off my clothes all day. I just need to know it will stop. Thanks folks, it is good to commiserate.
meredith004 10 Posted November 28, 2012 They sell Shampoo to help with Hair loss. Try that. Make sure u are taking a Multivitamin as well. Are u taking enough Biotin? See if increasing the dose is safe for you. I'm a month and a half out and I'm scared of hair loss as well. Just know...it grows back!!!
