I am feeling even more confident since I originally posted this. This journey is producing more than I imagined. Guys guys are right. It's us, people can

I know getting positive attention as you become healthier and more fit is great' date=' but does it make you angry or resentful at all? How do you adjust if you are feeling that? I'm still preop (and married) so I won't be shopping or anything but I wonder if suddenly being "good enuff" for attention will bring me down. Thoughts?

I heard something recently... Forgiveness is giving hope for a better past. It's been about embracing the present and moving forward. I was bitter pre op. Finally did this for me. Done with negativity in my life. That's been a process. I am married too. Changes have not been easy but so worth it.

That's great! I am a happy positive person by nature so I'm optimistic I can hold onto that through my journey.

Hate to say it bro' date='I don't think it's a body chemistry thing as much as I think it's because they find you more attractive as you lose weight & become more confident. They are using the cologne as an excuse to engage you and get closer.

Just my opinion, but it's not a bad thing either.

BTW, Issey Miyaki por homme is my preferred scent.[/quote']

I totally agree!!!! With the preferred scent as well! I love to smell Issey Miyaki on men. Whew!

Agree with OTR' date=' it's all you chad!

To illustrate: I'll never forget at a social event with work people a year or two back when I decided to put on some Gio. A couple girls actually asked me "what's with the cologne?" and one followed up with "who are you trying to impress?" (And it was just a spritz, I didn't overdo it, I promise). When I asked how they thought it smelled, I was given a very lukewarm response.

Not two weeks later, I heard them going on and on about one of the newer guys at work (who, admittedly, was clearly much taller, thinner and better looking than me... but older and MARRIED!), and in particular they liked the way he smelled. I asked point blank, "you mean the way he overdoes the cologne at work?" (it was really over the top), and they were like "oh my god yes!" and "I LOVE the way he smells!" (in that I want to be on him tone, you know what I'm talking about). Anyway, the point was: HE WORE THE EXACT SAME COLOGNE AS ME!

Damn I can't wait to be thin. (Sadly, though, the sleeve won't make me taller...). Anyways, way to go chad, keep it up![/quote']

Sorry that happened. As a woman I've had similar experiences. I hope that those kinds of hurtful events from my past make me more compassionate in the future. In that sense you'll be far more attractive to women because your heart will be kinder than most. I mean that genuinely, not as a consolation. A lack of depth and understanding of what others go through is a deal breaker.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
