ashelaine 383 Posted January 29, 2013 When I first started looking- I was sitting at a 39.9 BMI. I actually found out I was pregnant while at the surgeons office (they ran lab work and bam). I held off 2 years- and trust me- I wouldn't change my little dude for the world- but in almost 3 years I wound up with a 50 BMI. All because of my stubbornness. I would do it in a second. Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted January 29, 2013 BMI of 33 and I did it so I would never see a higher BMI. Just losing 20 lbs made a world of difference on my joints that I didn't even know I had an issue. I also sleep peacefully and never knew I had a problem until it wasn't there. ABSOLUTELY do it!
Facing50 21 Posted January 29, 2013 I did it almost a month ago with a bmi of 32. I had co-morbidities also - diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea. I've only lost about 12 lbs (they told me my weight loss would be slow b/c I had less to lose) but my diabetes is GONE, sugar levels completely normal without meds. Even with the minimal weight loss, I feel so much better, so much easier to get around, especially exercising, and my BMI is now 29.5 (yay, "merely" overweight!) To my mind there is no question that surgery is the right thing if you cannot do it by yourself - and let's face it, if you are here you are having problems doing it, as do/did the rest of us.
