Huntingnurse 510 Posted November 26, 2012 Found out that my surgeon will be doing my surgery robotically - supposed to be even easier on the patient than just regular laparoscopic. Anyone had a robotic surgery? Experiences?
eazye 151 Posted November 26, 2012 Mine was done robotically and yes, much easier on the patient! My wife is also a surgical RN on the bariatric team and works the robotic cases. She also says it is so much easier on the patient because of precise and minimal movements by the robot. I know I didn't need any pain meds after leaving the hospital the following day and I felt fine to return to my desk job 2 days after surgery (wasn't allowed though, couldn't drive). My scars are also so small that they are nearly nonexistant after 4 months. 1 Huntingnurse reacted to this
gfbhmbz 1 Posted November 26, 2012 Mine was done robotically as well. I did not need pain meds after I was out of the hospital, two day stay. I have very small incisions and after 11 days my stitches are falling off. I am already eating semi solid food, but still drinking protein...guess that's forever. The robot was awesome. Go for it!
