today starts day 1 of my 14 day liquid diet.< /p>

i have to do 5 Protein Shakes a day, can also have sf Jello or popsicles, and any other Clear liquids, and broths. plus at least 64 ounces of Water but that include the shakes.

so far so good. i am not hungry but my brain definitely wants to eat. so i just got some sf gum to help that needing to eat feeling. anyone else start today? how are you doing?

we shall see how i am in a few days :).

I loved the Extra "desserts" flavored gum when I was on my two week pre-op. The apple pie flavored one especially!

Im on my 3rd day of my 2 week preop diet. I can hardly stomach the icky Bariatric Advantage shake mix my surgeons office gave me so Ive been getting my Protein in with other things. I like the Lean Protein vanilla shakes from GNC, Oh Yeah brand has a Cookies and cream that is tolerable and my favorite go to has been the Unjury chicken broth that has 21 grams of protein per serving. I am finding that I need to make sure to have enough calories because Ive only been getting in about 500 and I get tired really easily. Good news is that in 3 days Ive lost 6 pounds. December 5th is my big day :)

I'm doing Bariatric Advantage as well. I had to buy it out of pocket so ill be dammed if it's going to waste lol. I've added stuff to them and it makes it tolerable. I made a pumpkin one today that was pretty tasty.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
