Hi All,

I reside on the East Coast and am flying to MX for surgery on 11/27. I am starting to get anxious about the return flight home. The flight is about 5 hours, but I am worried about getting blood clots. I am going to Aceves and I do not believe he gives a blood thinner post op. I would appreciate if others would share their story with me.

You wont have any issues. I had a 4 hour flight and was fine. You have no more risk of a blood clot than a regular traveler. Good Luck

All you need to do is get up and walk around on the plane every 30 minutes if possible. Try to move as much as possible....

When I fly, I wear compression stockings. Measure your ankles and calves and buy the right size for you. If you have ahem.. generous calves, Jobst has stockings that will acomodate you.

Dont the Mexican surgeons fit patients with compression stockings?? We put them on before surgery and wear them about 3/4 days afterwards in Aus

When I went in for Gallbladder surgery a few years back in the USA, I wasn't given any stockings and no compression devices were used on my legs. I was in bed for two days before I could walk.....

For my surgery in Mexico, I will not be fitted for stockings but they use a compression device on your legs while you're in the hospital for two days.

ALSO, typically when they give compression stockings in the hospital, the stockings are intended for use while lying down.. The compression ratios are different than regular compression stockings that are used for sitting and walking.

Still....you'd think they'd give you *something* to wear. We also had wraps around the legs which air is pumped through to massage and keep blood circulating. I don't know the statistics on how effective this stuff is, but I definately think a good pair of stockings would be worth the investment, especially if flying or driving shortly afterwards :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
