misstwenty 2 Posted November 25, 2012 Hey everyone! I am 4 months post op and 40 kilos down I have noticed that for about a month now my hair has been falling out excessively, literally, hand fulls and hand fulls. I am 20 years old and I feel like by 25 I may possibly be bald :/ is this normal? Has anyone had this happen? Does it stop?
suzthebrit 146 Posted November 26, 2012 This is normal if you are not getting enough Protein in your diet. You need to make sure you are getting at least 70g of protein per day. I was also told to take Biotin to help with this problem. My doctors assistant actually said to me that she didn't want to hear from me if my hair was falling out because it just means you're not getting enough protein. kyllfalcon 768 Posted November 26, 2012 It is normal regardless of how much Protein you take in. I was taking in over 100 grams and my hair is still falling out. Contrary to what the previous poster's doctor assistant said, mine said it is so commonplace in all patients it seems to be unavoidable! Guess it's just a difference of opinions in the medical community. But I thought because I am so hairy all over with a head of really thick hair that if I ate enough Protein I could avoid Hair loss. Not.
