Chat away. I am a woman and am just about ready for surgery. It is next Wednesday. Went through all the hoops. Took me 4 months to find a surgeon that I thought was experienced and then another 3 months to go through all the tests appointments. Then another 2 months to wait for surgery date. And finally it is here. If you have any questions please ask.

I guess I'm lucky as far as it comes to the process. I've met my surgeon and really like him! It has been pretty easy and pretty fast. I am just ready for this change, i'm ready to star seeing results. I feel so lost, I have gained so much weight I don't even recognize myself! I'm recently single after 5 years and I am afraid to visit with old friends (guys and girls) because of the weight gain!

Hi, I'm not sleeved yet. I'm learning alot from the folks on this site. They are truly wonderful people. I'm gonna have my surgery in TJ Mexico. I haven't booked a date yet, but I will be there between the 18th and the 22nd.

Wow, that's great! Who is your doctor? I wish I could afford to just do that. I'd rather than go through the waiting game.

I'm going with Dr alejandro lopez. And I still have to wait because I don't have the money yet, but if I did I would've been there like yesterday.

Hi all. I'm 31 and suffer from cervical stenosis and pcos that causes my infertility. I have been doing infertility treatments for the past two years that have made me gain massive amounts of weight due to meds/injections and depression from all the failed attempts. I had my fist consult nov 13 and I decided on the sleeve as my procedure. I have to wait 3 months to complete all the insurance pre requisites n will schedule surgery march/April 2013. So excited. My game plan is to start back on birth control this month because it helps decrease the presence of cysts due to pcos and hopefully will help with the weight loss process. I would like to be healthy. I have no goal weight in mind. My goal is whatever I lose in 18 months following the surgery and that is when I will try to have a baby again. I am risking time waiting but I believe if I got pregnent at the weight I am now I would n the baby would suffer. I am willing to take the risk.

Current bmi 41

Current weight 250

Height 5'5"

Jeans sz 20

Yes I have a two year old boy. He is my motivation! I feel like I have been overweight my entire life and haven't been able to fix it when I got older because I never learned how to eat properly. I played sports through my teen years, and then gained all the weight when I stopped. My bmi is 44 i think.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
