For me, salad is a stage 6 food, so six weeks out. Every doctor says something different, though. Did you get a diet plan?

2 months for me. I have never craved a salad. I love them but have never craved one until I couldn't have them! So happy when I could. I have one almost every day now.

What my doctor said is to try a little of something and if it doesn't sit well or comes back up wait a few weeks and try it again. I was cleared to have regular food after 4 weeks except no seeds, nuts or popcorn for 6 months.

I was told no lettuce or other raw vegetables for 6 months. It sounds like everyone else is having salads earlier than that with no problems.

I'm on the same schedule. Which sucks because I love salad LOL I dream about cesear with chicken breast on it while others are dreaming about cookies!

Tonight we're eating at a fancy french restaurant in Minneapolis (I think...could be Saint Paul...I'm not from here). I haven't been told when I can eat snails, but FYI...today's the day LOL We'll see how it goes.

Heh heh, and if I soak the toast points in butter and garlic long enough they'll be sort of Protein right? LOL

I started out with sweet butter lettuce at 4 weeks. It has a very soft texture and I never had a problem. I have not had romaine yet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
