It is probably with how I view myself. I have a much more healthy and positive outlook on life now.

Some improved some didn't. But for the ones who didn't its their loss not mine. Don't let others bring you down

I'd be lying if I said I'm not worried about my relationship with my husband after weight loss. He's not supportive of my choice to get WLS, he doesn't want to even know when I get it done. Ive been with him for 10 years and have 3 kids. I'm scared that weight loss will give me the confidence that I've lacked and that I'll stop putting up with his crap. He's not horrible, but I do feel like I put up with far more then what most women put up with.

If there are problems, WLS will certainly bring them out. Continue to work on your marriage but definitely have surgery. Your health is very important. Try to reassure him that you love him but work on loving confidence now.

If you can, go to counseling. I am a firm believer. It has saved my marriage several times. My WLS program also offers support groups and classes for family members. When we are married, our decisions effect both of us. However, you still have to put yourself first sometimes. That may be scary to our significant others but the more you can work through those feelings together, the better off you both will be. Remind him that the better you feel about yourself, the better that will be for those around you. Just remember that while you want everyone to be supportive, this is about putting yourself first for a change. Don't let yourself feel bad or guilty about that. I know I have on occasion but that's what I keep telling myself!

Maybe he is just scared of you having surgery done? That makes me really sad to hear because this should be a joyous thing. I couldn't have done this without the support of my husband.

My husband kept telling me I didn't need surgery, he was against it, etc. I explained to him that I loved him and heard each and every single complaint/reason he gave but ultimately, the decision wasn't his.

The decision was for me. It was for my health. It was for my peace of mind.

About two months before the surgery we went to an appointment to talk to a reproductive endocrinologist. They told us that I'd have to lose weight before we could undergo in-vitro. My husband became my biggest cheerleader!

Sometimes people will be for you, sometimes they will be against you. The important thing is to never be your own worst enemy!

My boyfriend of 17 yr paid for the surgery in Mexico including the airfare - the week before we left he started up a cyber affair with a married nasty chick & while I was in the hospital he was at the Marriott sending nude pics of himself. Needless to say we are no longer together & I got this great new body & she is draining him of his money - divorce, apartment, furniture, etc. Is so funny cause it's his loss & now she's way bigger than me. lol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
