Ok May Be A Tad Personal

I was wondering if anyone is having issues with using the bathroom. I go maybe every 3-4 days. Should I be nervous. Should I be taking something. Call my doctor?

That doesn't sound too bad, but you could start taking s Fiber supplement to keep things moving. Also get some mirilax or any natural non stimulant laxative to take if you haven't gone after the 3 or 4 days

I have had the surgery on October 15th, and see the same thing. I think its the body's way of trying to hold in what it may not get again.

I was sleeved on November 11th and having the opposite problem I can't quit going. I'm not taking any fiber nothing. Any advice on that? Really like to chill it out for a little while

Constipation is SO normal. A high Protein diet is the cause of this. I had a couple major problems and finally said enough! I figure eating a balanced diet was healthier on my bowels than laxatives, stool softeners and not to mention the discomfort of the constipation. So I made mini bran muffins at home from scratch. They are full of fiber, I have 1 a day and now I go no problem every day. I can always give the recipe if anyone is interested. I'm also eating a little fruit and veggies as well now and I'm 2 months out

I'm going to see a nutritionist on Monday and I can't wait! I just need a solid plan as to what I am to eat.

I did all liquids the week before surgery then a week after. Second week was adding some puréed and cream based Soups. This week adding some ground meat and some macaroni. Now that I think about it I'm probably a once a week average with the bathroom. I think that if I was able to go maybe I would feel that I actually lost 30 lbs.

stay tuned everyone! I will ask my nutritionist for some advice too !!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
