crystal525 26 Posted February 2, 2013 Wow, you are like my hero...I am 3 days post op and I don't feel good at all. I'm still short of breathe and can't lay down at all, its so painful. I can't wait until I hit day 5 and hopefully feel better. I'm sure you'll feel so much better. By day 5 I think I was only taking my meds at night to help me sleep! Are you using your incentive spirometer to help with the breathing? I did use that because I did feel a little short of breath.
Jessi_Rae 21 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm sure you'll feel so much better. By day 5 I think I was only taking my meds at night to help me sleep! Are you using your incentive spirometer to help with the breathing? I did use that because I did feel a little short of breath. Thank you so much.I'm day 4 post op and still feel bad. I use my meds at night, bust can only sleep about 1 to 2 hrs, before my nody wakes me up to tell me it hurts. I've been using the spirometer, but maybe it takes a little bit to help. How long did it take to work up your liquids? Right now, I'm at about 10-12 oz for the day. Anything more hurts? Also did anyone dry heeve a lot? I dry heeve probably twice a day and throw up once. Pretty awful since it tastes like blood.
TxBritt 32 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm now day 3 post op and really feel pretty good. I've had about 10 oz of Water and four oz of Protein Shake. I haven't actually eaten anything and the weird part is I have no desire too. I'm going to try some Soup this evening but nothing sounds good. I made my son lunch earlier and sat with him while he ate but I didn't even want a bite. I'm also down another two lbs. hopefully I'll be able to eat something soon. shortsleevedkay 28 Posted February 2, 2013 Glad to hear others are feeling better than myself. But I do feel better today than yesterday.I dry heeved several times. Since surgery, I probably drank 2 oz. Soups are ok to drink but I can only get in about 2 tablespoons in. I drank a few spoonsful of Isopure but that's all. So I am definitely not getting my liquids in because of this Diva Sleeve inside me now that is telling me how much she can eat...ughhh
TerryBelieves 352 Posted February 2, 2013 Hey all, My surgery was Jan 28th, I am doing pretty good. I haven't used any of the nausea meds prescribed. Today I haven't had a pain pill. I was nauseated a couple of times in the hospital because of liquid pain med and beef broth, will never do beef broth again. I went 18 hrs in the hospital with out pain meds for fear of making me sick. Right now I am still on clear liquid and 3 4oz shakes a day till I see my dr. on the 7th. Yesterday I got about 60 oz of liquid in. It was the first day to get in all 3 shakes. I still use my spirometer and I am doing 5 min walks 6 times a day. I have steristrips on my incisions, except the one they took the stomach out. I have 2 stitches. My left side hurts when coughing, sneezing, getting up and down to sit. So today I went to the store and bought a support camisole. My husband had to help get it on. Let me tell you my left side feels wonderful. I don't have to hold my stomach to get up and down. Now I might be sore when I take it off, I hope not. Last night I was able to lay on my left side for just a little bit. As everyone says, its better every day! Day of surgery I was 254, this morning I was 246, I had lost 33 lbs the day of surgery. So far I love my sleeve. I haven't been hungry since surgery.

Hopey 28 Posted February 3, 2013 I don't know if this has anything to do with my current problem, but I forgot and used a straw last night. So my current problem is every sip I take of Water or a Protein Drink is uncomfortable. It seems to hurt a little and my head hurts then too. Now I feel like I have a lump in my throat. Before this I had no problems. Just sore from my surgery. Thoughts?
Jessi_Rae 21 Posted February 3, 2013 It sounds like you got air in your sleeve along with Water. How far out are you post op?? I remeber at the hospital my baratric nurse said straws draw in too much air. Maybe try a gas-x strip to see if it helps.
