Hopey 28 Posted January 31, 2013 Hey everyone So I am 1 week post op and I have to say' date=' today was the first day I felt really good. I definitely had my share of "what the hell did I do" days in the very beginning but definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Cannot wait to move on from the full liquid diet and get to eat some tuna and egg salad. Just wanted all the pre-ops and early post-ops to know that it DOES get better. Every day is better than the last. I ate some Soup at a restaurant today and it felt great to be satisfied and full so quick. I am so excited for the rest of the year and what is to come![/quote'] Hi, I'm a week out also. I'm not as happy as you right now. I'm not sure if it is a combination of things. I miss real food!!! I'm on full liquids. My friends brought food over for my family. The chicken looks so good! I'm not hungry, but I want that food. It may also be that I'm stuck in my house. I've been to the YMCA for walks, but I haven't gone many places. Maybe things will look up when I can eat real food, and not have to rest so much. I'm glad you're doing well! Stef 264 Posted January 31, 2013 Was wondering, how many people had hernias that needed to be repairded? When I had my endoscopy I was told I had a hiatal hernia, but once they cut me open they said there wasn't one so I got lucky.

It was repaired while in for my sleeve. I'm just wondering if that's why I feel so bad.
MsBriteEyez 32 Posted January 31, 2013 My surgery was Jan 23. I had a Hernia repair also but was still discharged in 2 days. I am going through this alone due to family live out of town but have many checking on me. So far I been one who been successful so far. I been able to drink all the Clear Liquids I am allowed. Water, broth with Protein, Jello & popsicles and I been able to take in about 40-48 oz so far without any problems. I found sitting in my recliner chair has provided me more comfort rather than lay in bed. I do have a lot of gas which has been eased using Gas X Strips and a heating pad on my lower back and it helps me release the gas. I started out at 268 pounds. Good luck to you all. I also was repaired with a hernia at the same time as my sleeve - when I asked (post surgery) my docs if this was causing me additional pain - they said no - it is almost a "non event" compared to the sleeve. I would talk to your doc to find out more about why you feel so bad! Hope you get better soon!

DonnaK. 5 Posted January 31, 2013 Mine was 1/28, I am 4 days post-op. My husband had his back in October. I'm having more post-op issues than he did, so I have to admit I'm a bit jealous, but am hanging in there. I have an excellent doctor, so I am keeping the faith! happy2bhealthy 1 Posted January 31, 2013 Don't worry....I felt the same way...I had 20% of discomfort..I wasn't in enough pain to take any meds....I had meds for nausea for around three days.....but I often had to remind myself I had Surgery. I had my surgery and am home already. The nausea wasn't that bad al tall but the gas pain was nasty, I haven't had to take any pain meds since I have been home except for Tylenol. I am feeling better today but still weak and sore.Just keep praying everyday gets better.
