January 2013 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Ok fellow sleevers!!!! I just got home from the hospital' date=' my surgery Monday, jan.7th.

I was in horrible pain after surgery and all night. They have me dilauded and zofran and was still hurting so bad, but my nurse didn't giver anything else. Finally this morning the bariatric nurse practitioner came to see me and told me that it was unacceptable that I was still in pain. She have me Toradol and I felt like a new person! So my advice - ask for toradol right away!!!!

Good luck!!![/quote']

Had mine on Monday too. I'm at home now. The gas pains were awful at first now I am just hurting when I move to sitting to standing. Still taking zofran and loratab. My surgeon said sleevers have the worst nausea ever..so I am hesitant to stop the zofran. I'm sleeping a lot just because of the pain meds! Good luck!

Today is my 1st day on the 2week preop diet. I still have the 1 meal left to have, but I'm feeling pretty good. Can I still go to the gym during this phase??

I'm laying here in bed trying to sleep but too anxious to sleep .I have to be up in 5 hours to head for the hospital. I have a two hour drive to the hospital and check in at 7:30! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I stopped eating at 8 with a little Water until 10. I can't wait to be on the other side of this surgery. Good luck to everyone else going in today And in the next couple days to come!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
