I've never dumped. I may be ignorant, but I thought dumping was associated with the bypass, not the sleeve.

I have slimed after eating too much or something too greasy, where saliva just poured out of my face. I felt sick, but not very, just a little. I only let that happen twice, learned my lesson.

Truly, it sounds like a stomach bug to me. What do the rest of you think?

I think I did eat a bit too much for supper (was actually surprised at how much I ate). I did eat extremely slowly, though. Later in the evening I put 1/4th of a piece of chocolate cheesecake on my plate and took some tiny bites. It was so rich and so incredibly good. Since I went so slow with super tiny bits, I started to notice that it was not a good idea to continue to taste, even though it was so wonderful. I think if I had eaten any more I would have been in the same boat.

The last time I had dumping syndrome it was when I ate something very sweet and rich.

Well, did some quick research. Seems it does happen with VSG, but very rare. Thank goodness!! Doesn't sound like a lot of fun!

I didnt think we could dump either. I ate a taste of everything including the tip of a piece of pie and didnt have any problems, but stayed within my 6 ounces. Sorry to hear that it went so bad for you! That had to have sucked on a holiday!

Hope you are feeling better. The slimies are the worst. Sounds like you had a lot going on. Exactly what did you ear? eggs will make me vomit everytime. Hamburgers I'm getting better with. If I go one morsel over I can bet you it's coming back up. I've gotten better with vomiting because it makes me feel bulimc.

Oh no, dumping is the absolute worst feeling ever. I used to get it before I had surgery and it is totally awful! What a terrible way to end your holiday! You can eat at Christmas, just remember this experience and measure your food onto your own baby plate. Then you don't risk this again!

Hope you feel better today. Mine always lasted over night.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
