Lady Janey 0 Posted October 19, 2006 Hi! I'm a 26 year old wife and mother and I will be going for my lap band surgery on Nov. 6th - I am so excited!! I am currently on Optifast for three weeks to help shrink my liver before surgery. My surgeon is Dr. Bessler at Columbia Presbyterian in New York. I'm extrememly motivated about this, but also scared that I'll end up cheating and messing up and fail. That is just unacceptable to me. If I'm having surgery, than by god, it's going to work!! Hope to get to know you better! Janey
beachgirl 2 Posted October 19, 2006 Welcome Janey, I have faith with the band you'll do great. I'm 42 and had tried ever diet available to mankind. I was also so afraid because I was self pay and emptied out our savings account for this and didn't want to fail at this too. Trust me, with the band, and proper fill, I am very, very seldom hungry. Some days I'll look at my watch and it might be 5:00 pm and I've forgotten to eat. You'll get lots of good support here so keep in touch and good luck on your new journey. It was the best decision I've ever made in my life.
edieparks 2 Posted October 19, 2006 Janey, You have reason to be excited!! I was banded 7-19-06 and am still excited . Im not thinking abount what am I going to eat next, how can I get full... My wonderful band lets me get that full feeling. It has been nothing but a good good decision for me. My food addiction is now replaced with exercise addiction. I lost 3 lbs on my vacation this month! Who would have ever thunk it (KY slang)!!! Good luck and get ready for a fun ride. edie
Lady Janey 0 Posted October 19, 2006 Thanks so much! I'm actually very concerned about the whole exercise piece. Even now, on the Optifast, I'm supposed to exercise 4 hours a week, but I'm having a hard time starting it, I hope I can get into it soon...
