So I don't think it matters who your surgeon is. Sleevers all lose weight at different rates. Are you just curious? Just wondering why you are asking. You could end up being a slow loser or a faster loser, no matter what surgeon.

I have noticed that with some surgeons it seems like the people I talk to who used that surgeon lost weight slower than others

Maybe that's what the op is wondering about.

Oh that is interesting I haven't noticed that yet. Maybe it has to do with their diet plan and how strictly they follow it. I don't consume carbs, stick mostly to Protein with a little veggie and doing great.

I figured it was probably just a coincidence.

Op, dr. Garcia uses a size 32 bougie which I believe is the smallest a surgeon can use, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything since some staple close to the bougie, some just use the bougie as a loose guide etc.

I know that's not a picture but I hope it's helpful info.

Amytug, I have noticed that too.. there is on Dr. I have researched on here where it seems like all of his patients lose faster than others. Plus I dont see a lot of weightloss checkins from Dr. Garcia's patients, you know like 6months later, now I am going with him, because I have researched and researched, watched youtube and spoken with Alma and the whole nine. I just want to know, what a few patients progress is down the line.

Whatever you do... Don't ask questions! Lol! Teasing, of course. I've noticed results vary too, but I think it probably has more to with the individual, there body's response to the weight loss, and of course there commitment to a lifestyle overhaul. And the sleeve size probably has some affect. Just my thoughts.

Now hat you mention it though, you're right. I haven't seen a lot of images or stories from 6m+ Down the road from dr Garcia. Hm.

Now you've got me curious. :). If I come up with anything, I'll post it.

I'm about 95% sure that I'm goin w dr. Garcia too. Do you have to wait until feb/march too? Maybe we can be sleeve buddies.

I know for me being a Garcia patient not required to go to the doctor for post op or NUT appointments it seems easier to distance myself from here as far as checking in because other than blood work 3 months out we don't have as many doc check ins. So in other words we do our thing more privately because we aren't checking in with docs as frequently . I am not sure that my point is being made clearly Haha and def just my own opinion.

I was sleeved Oct 19th at 228 and this past monday down 30 lbs. Just started back at the gym Monday too!:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
