Loving My Sleeve This Tahnksgiving!

Recommended Posts

I am still full from the little bit I ate today! I would have had two or more servings I had a tiny tiny tea cup saucer and I am still full! I LOVE IT! I was able to ENJOY the food as well!

Same here :) The sleeve served it's purpose today for sure. Money well spent( or invested as my husband put it). But I love how I felt in charge

This was my first Thanksgiving with the sleeve as well. What a difference it made. Not only was I full after a small amount but I noticed some of my old favorites weren't quite as good. The carb-heavy stuffing and mashed potatoes didn't really interest me as much as the turkey with a little cranberry sauce. I know what I was thankful for today!

Im worried because I am not feeling full. I know my sleeve is new but thought I should feel full..

You aren't on solid food are you? Once you eat denser foods you'll fill up faster.

I was also the same before I got to solid foods! To be honest I thought my sleeve was not right...it was done wrong etc...spent 13k on nothing! Once I over ate (Solid foods) I knew it was real. Today o ly a month and a couple days out ...i am happy i did it...

I have lost 24 lbs. since surgury! I was expecting it to melt off. I went to my post op month visit yesterday and the doc said I am doing fine.I am right where I am supposed to be. I was depressed because i thought it was going to be faster. 20 LBS a month though is great. I also did that without walking or exercising. I am much more mobile but am still a bit heavy for the daily routine. I have been my own encouragement...everybody is different. I plan to go to a support group next week as well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
