Recommended Posts

Was sleeved on Monday. Ever since I find myself being kinda cold all the time. Is this normal? I'm usually sweating. Lol

Me too. Ill sit under a blanket with the heater on while hubby is saying its not cold. It can be residual effects of the anesthetic and less movement :)

It has to do with a low calorie intake. You burn calories to keep yourself warm. Less calories, low body temperature.

I worry about this. I am getting sleeved in January and I am cold all the time now. In preparation I have ordered a heated throw that was on sale at Kohl's black Friday sale. I hope I am not freezing all the time after surgery.

So funny you should mention this - I thought I was losing my mind. I'm freezing all the time. Which is so weird because I keep my house really cool - I watch over the thermostat (Living in NH you have to or else you will have to sell your sole or lung in order to buy heating fuel)! So yes, I am cold all the time. I wonder why?

I can't wait! I sweat like a pig, typical cliche' sweaty fat pig person. I'm always hot. My dream is to wear one of these big bulky cable knit sweaters next fall!

I wish! I am 2 1/2 months out and still hot! I am at that age.....

Looking forward to being cool. I am not as sweaty as I used to be but still warm most of the time.

Yes, this is very common after surgery! I am cold all the time too. I was cold before surgery, but this is even more so. I don't sweat much anymore either, even when I exercise.

I have started taking long baths every day, because it is the one time I feel warm!

You're not crazy!

I've never been cold in my life- I'm the person that ran the air conditioner year round. 65 degrees and the temp didn't move EVER.

Now, the heat is on at 75 degrees (minimum) AND I go to bed with a heating pad! When I'm outside, I wear a coat. I now use the heater in my Jeep and I don't complain about having a top sheet, a blanket AND a duvet on our bed. My very thin husband is happier than ever!

I'm still cold!

This is one of the side effects my case worker talked to me about. Apparently it's completely normal :)

I am so glad that I am not the only one. I am 4 weeks post op and at work I am freezing, wrapped in two blankets and even turning up the heat at home! (I like the house at 67 -honestly, now I am cranking it to 70)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
