What Do You Think?

When I made the decision to get sleeved, I put a fleece before The Lord and said if it got done this year it would be with his blessing. Now my surgeons office said they were all booked for this year. I did all the classes and all the appointments required, even lost 27lbs.

I'm kinda discouraged, I really thought it was Gods will, that I go ahead. I keep praying for a miracle and that a day opens up in December.

Am I pushing past his will?

What do you all think?

I dont understand. Is there a specific reason it has to happen this year?Or is that just how you would know its Gods will to have the surgery,if its this year?

We all experience things different but in my life if I have prayed about something, know that it is in His permissive will, then I wait on Him to make the path straight for me in His perfect time! And often, when I was younger, when I confused His time and mine and did things in my time,I suffered consequinces that made me wish that I'd waited on the Lords perfect time.

Does this mean if you cant have surgery before year end you will not have it at all as you will then see it as not in His plan for your life? (just so I can understand this..sorry,I'm slow...lol)

The specific reason is how I put it to The Lord, I guess that was silly of me. I wanted it done before end of year cause of the cost of deductible and co-insurance.

You have helped put it into perspective for me. I guess I was trying to box God in. Just don't want to do this out of Gods will, I make a lot of mistakes without seeking him first.

You can't try and give the Lord a deadline...you will ALWAYS set yourself up for failure! And remember that the same thing that you prayed to our Lord about, Satan hears it as well. Satan wants us to be discouraged, feeling hopeless, and defeated (that's what's going to happen if you stay overweight), but rebuke that spirit and walk into that blessing that the Lord has for you. All you need is a date...and then you will be on to a longer, healthier life!

May God give you a peace about your surgery!

Hi,We all make those mistakes but sooo often it is because we either hear what we want or dont listen to what the Lord wants. It is just an ongoing process and the Lord knows our intentions. However, better not to make those kind of mistakes as we tend to pay a price for them,no matter what our intentions were.

I had a lot of reservations about the surgery. Was so sure that I was in God's will in 2005 with the band (looking back the Lord were so loud and clear that it wasnt the right thing but I really wanted something to help me get thin. The price I paid was high but I learnt so much from that experience in my walk with the Lord). Now,I listen. And I just ask for God's will to be done.

Thank goodness all this is part of our journey towards eternity. This is how we learn. And the Lord loves us and knows us.

Good luck and mayyou get your date soon.

Thank you all for your prayers and input. I spoke with the case manager at my docs office and she sent my information to my insurance company today. The month of December is still booked up, but I am trusting The Lord for something to open up. He knows I can't afford to pay my deductible and co insurance all at once, so I'm putting it in his hands and will wait on him. God Bless you all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
