ok so i havent been on in a while but thats only becouse ive jam packed my brain with all these forums and stories. even thoe i have not been on here ive been on youtube and google reserching and listening to peoples testamonies and journeys. i have all my notes from what to bring to the hospitol to what to eat post op. im getting a bit inpationt and want to just crowl out of my skin and become the new me that awaits but i can not haha. so im here writeing this for my self, answers, and anyone else thats interested :). it took my hospitol (Mass General Hospitol) 4 months just to start my insurace hoop jumping, ive had my first anitiol appointments with the diatition and phycologist, as most of you know ill have one of these every month for about 6 months. i never really had any specific questions but the main one i do have is how can you stop loseing weight once you reach your goal. i know this may sound weird becouse i have been very over weight my whole entire life even thoe it has been short since i am only 19 years young but i dont want to be skinny skinny i have always appreciated a fuller body, mine on the other hand is over flowing haha. i also take in to consideration i am very tall 5'11 and have a broader body type. so thats all me staying sane by writeing my journy and babaling :]

Sweetie i had the same concerns as you. I am not a small build woman. I have the stout bones of a small football player and my frame super skinny would not look very nice cause i agree with you a fuller body looks better on certain frames. This is where you concern yourself with BMI instead of pounds when you reach your goal. As long as you maintain a healthy BMI then the pounds can move slightly up or down. Hope this helps good luck

You would be amazed at how easy it is to stop losing weight...lol

I will be a year out Dec 12th, I have lost almost 125# and hope to lose another 5# by the end of the year. I am getting close to goal, and the weight loss is pretty slow - maybe 4-6# a month now.

I notice that all I have to do is increase carbs a little and my weight loss stops.

for me, getting too skinny is the least of my worries... and if it does happen, I do have alot of practice at gaining weight so reckon I can figure it out!

Amen, to that, never had trouble puttin it on. I am smaller frame and so was my Mom, but she always maintained her perfect weight. After my surgery I anticipate that I will be eating like she did normally. I know that if I have one to many carbs my loss will stop on a dime. As far as concerns go I don't really think this has to be one for us in this category although I am sure there are exceptions to this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
