I was on the 14th and was on mushies for thanksgiving. I feel like I was a me to eat a lot. I'm used to having my band and feeling restriction but I was able to get a cup of mashed potatoes' date=' string Beans, and yams all without no problem. I stopped myself but was looking for restriction. I'm so afraid that something is wrong. I'm looking for a nutritionist for some help next week. :([/quote']

I don't think there's anything wrong with you, but you did have Protein mostly carbs (potatoes and yams) and veggie. When I eat chicken or turkey I noticed I can eat double the volume when I eat it with potatoes. The carbs seem to go down nicely while the Protein, pureed, well-chewed and otherwise, seem to make me feel the stuck in the chest feeling after only a few bites! I could probably eat a cup of pureed carbs but once I add protein, my tolerable meal size goes down to a between a 1/4 and 1/2 cup of food, less if I eat too fast or too big a spoonful! I'm 6 weeks out. I'm cleared to eat everything but to avoid bread. I'ld love to be able to eat everything but my sleeve is still very sensitive so I'm taking it very slow!

I had the band too, I don't feel the restriction, which felt like you were clogged. But I don't feel the hunger that much and I get full with 4oz of liquids.< /p>

I'm so glad I read this thread ! I am in the same place. I was sleeved on Nov 20th and I started full liquids today and I am hungry, hungry, hungry!! I don't have any problems with liquids but I haven't felt full at all. I am hoping for good restriction on soft/mushies. :( frustrated

I was sleeved on the 19th. I was convinced that I was not feeling full on full liquids. I overdid it a bit on cream Soup for dinner tonight and then felt very full and gross. And scared. I laid down until it passed but I don't want to feel that ever again. I guess it's all a learning process. :)

I have never been happier to see a thread like this.i was sleeved on the 15th after 2years of lap band and don't feel full. My doctor has said I can move to soft foods and am hoping that I will feel full then. I am down 16lbs but have been there for a week now. I gulp Protein Shakes because they make me nauseous and I get about 72 oz of Water a day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
