Sleeved 11/7, Question?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!! Love this app! I was sleeved on 11/7 so almost two weeks out. I'm on the puréed diet and was curious about Protein. The thought of puréed meat sounds so unappealing. Did you all mainly get your protein from yogurt at this point or did you find other ways? And if so, do you mind sharing these tips with this newbie? Thanks for any help!!!

I found some tinned salmon with cracked pepper, pureed it and mixed in a tiny little bit of mayo and milk. That worked ok. Today I did the same but added part of a (mashed) soft boiled egg.

I haven't checked out the recipes section yet, but I will soon so that I don't get bored.

I had my sleeve on the 12th and can only have full Protein liquids for 3 weeks. Eating protein Soups, add protein cocoa to my Decaf coffee, and tried fat free, sugar free puddings with protein added to it. Have had some problem with the thickness of the pudding, or I ate it too fast. Otherwise, one week out and doing well!!

If you can tolerate it, don't forget to use unflavored Protein Powder. I swear I lived off hot cocoa with nectar unflavored powder for my first two weeks.

I lived on yogurt and scrambled eggs. Also, canned tuna crumbled very fine with mayo. There was no way I could stomach pureed meat. Bleck!

I found a milk that has 12 grams of Protein ( HEB store brand) and I eat greek yogurt with only one shake a day. pureed meat or Beans for lunch and dinner. I get about 60-70 grams of protein a day. I pureed chicken with green enchilada sauce last night. It was really good! I've only tried chicken so far.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
