Five years ago I had the lap band put in and four months ago it was removed in emergency surgery. I just got approved for the sleeve and scheduled for 11/28. I used chocolate Unjury and liked it the best out of all the Protein Drinks. Mixing with milk and ice in a blender is pretty good. I plan to start back on it after my surgery.

My favorites so far are Isopure banana Cream and Syntax nectar Cookies n Cream and vanilla Torte. I mix both with Water and really like them. I would imagine that if you used milk they would even be better.

Cookies n cream really good? I want to try it

"I" love the taste. You may want to get a sample pack first and try it before buying a container.

When I read that a lot of people liked the Syntax nectar Fuzzy Navel I bought a huge jar and I can't stand the stuff. Everyone's tastes are different, but I think that the Cookies n Cream had a nice, creamy taste to it. Of course it is not a substitute for real cookies and cream ice cream or milkshake, but for 100 calories it is pretty dang close imo.

I like the Oh Yeah shakes. I got them in the hospital and liked them so I ordered them on Amazon. Get a couple different flavors. One flavor gets boring real fast.

My favorite so far is Premier Protein from costco. They taste best cold and are an easy grab and go on busy mornings.

It's funny, so many people like the premier but it sits like a rock in my stomach. If I'm short on Protein I like the unjury chocolate royale.

I am 3 months out and live by the Bariatric Advantage chocolate Protein Powder. I mix it with almond milk. Love love love it! If I want to get creative I'll add PB2 and banana and blend it.

I'm a huge fan of Muscle Milk Light...chocolate, at least. I have 16 oz every morning (8 before the gym, and 8 after), for 30 grams of Protein, and only 200 calories (total). I've tried other Muscle Milk flavors, but didn't care much for them.

I like Syntrax - most flavors. The strawberry tastes like strawberry milk to me. The double stuffed cookie is yum. I like the fuzzy navel reminds me of an Orange Julius.

I like Syntha-6 but I think the carbs is kind of high. I haven't tried their light brand (something like Lean Dessert or something like that).

And powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate, vanilla and unflavored are really good. For basic chocolate/vanilla I would go with these and then just add flavorings. The strawberry sorbet is HORRIBLE!

Muscle Milk Light chocolate is good, too.

I have tried probably 10 different brands and these are the ones I like the best.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
