To Count Or Not To Count

Recommended Posts

Knowledge is power. I count and track. I'm nearly 8 months out and while you may not need it at this time, when you get where I am it is a vital step. Get yourself in the habit now, because your body will not always be so restricted, when that day comes when you consume more, you'll be very aware of what you are eating if you track your food.< /p>

do anyone count calories if you do how far out are you and how many do you get in? and what is your carb count if you count?

im almost 10 weeks and i get 800-900 a day carbs are 100 or less, but today i went over.

I use MyFitnessPal, and track every single thing that goes into my mouth. I highly recommend tracking what you consume....its the only way to be absolutely certain you know how much you're consuming. Measure everything, as well...many studies have shown that people almost always underestimate portion sizes when they "eyeball" amounts.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
