Panic Attack After Seeing This Website...

No but your intention was clear. I don't think your opinions on a race of people belong on this great website' date=' we are here to give support & advice. As a Native person, I don't appreciate the insinuation, I came to your thread to give you support.

Was this even remotely helpful in any form. It seems like your out for a fight or attention. Why even try and start a fight and then claim this is for supportive people.

I think the point is, sadly there is crime everywhere. I've lived in Mexico FAR from any tourist town. Did I feel safe all the time?? No! But I never had any trouble whatsoever.

This website is very sad and unfortunate. I know in Canada there has been an increase of these kind of stories of Canadian travelers in Mexico. Last year almost 1.5 million Canadians visited Mexico. There were around 10 news stories. That's a small percentage. So yes, terrible things happen, but Don't let it stop you from going for something so important.

You know what, you are absolutely right. That is a very low percentage... and I bet you Canadians get killed at other destinations as well... but maybe don't hit the papers. it's just hard when you have an old fashion family who believes everything they see on tv.

Thank you :)

Yes my family is the same. I've learned there's not much you can do about narrow thinking :) you just have to live your life for you.

Maybeoneday- ok, take a deep breath, this is one big happy, supportive group here. (We're one big happy family...think of us as the cousins you've never met...lol). I am a MX Sleever, mine was done in Tijuana. You are going to be fine & I'm sorry your family isn't supporting your decision. It's very important to do your research on the Dr & the facility. You can provide them with as much information as possible to put both them & yourself at ease. Can s@#t happen, yes, I suppose it can. Is it likely to happen, not so much. If you have questions, make a list & ask both here on this site & address your concerns with the Dr. Best of luck to you & try not to worry.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
